Bitterroot Trout Unlimited is devoted to conserve, protect, and restore the Bitterroot River’s cold water fishery and its watershed.
The Bitterroot Buggers is our flagship program and this will be our 22nd year. It has been a great program to get our youth involved and excited about fishing. The eight week class covers fly tying, casting, fish identification, entomology, riparian environment, river safety, and why we fish. The program culminates with a local fishing trip for the kids to test out the flies they have tied. We have an outstanding group of volunteers that selflessly devote their time and talent to make this program a success each year.
We are continually planning and implementing conservation projects in the Bitterroot drainage by working closely with Christine Brissette, our Trout Unlimited Project Manager, to facilitate our mission.
